Detroit Lions News: T.J. Lang Chose Lions Over Seahawks Because of Distance
By Zac Snyder
Detroit Lions news takes a listen to a radio spot T.J. Lang for more insight into his free agency and decision to sign with the Lions.
The Detroit Lions have done well in free agency to turn their offensive line into a strength. Signing right guard T.J. Lang was a big part of that, especially because he’s not only a gain for the Lions but also a loss for the rival Green Bay Packers.
Lang appeared on ESPN Wisconsin for a radio interview this morning, spending about a half hour of airtime in which he touched on a variety of topics regarding his experience in free agency, moving to the Lions and leaving the Packers.
As a result, Lang gave some insight into his decision to sign with the Lions over the Packers and Seattle Seahawks. He spoke glowingly of his visit to Seattle in which he gained a lot of respect for the Seahawks organization and seemed to really click with general manager John Schneider. Lang didn’t confirm any details about the competing offers, but seemed to acknowledge that the Lions and Seahawks were close or equal while the Packers were passed by as the numbers starting getting bigger.
In the end, distance from home was the deciding factor as T.J. and his wife Laura are both from Michigan and moving here gives them the ability to keep their young family in one place year round.
