The Michigan basketball team takes on Oregon in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. Here’s how you can find the game on TV or watch online.
The Michigan basketball team continues their March Madness run with an NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen game against the No. 3 Oregon Ducks on Thursday night.
The Wolverines advanced to the Sweet Sixteen with an impressive 73-69 victory over second-seeded Louisville on Sunday. Moritz Wagner was a man on a mission for Michigan with a game-high 26 points on 11-14 shooting. D.J. Wilson (17), Zak Irvin (11), and Derrick Walton Jr. (10) also reached double digit point totals.
Oregon earned the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, but Michigan will be the toughest opponent they’ll have faced in the tournament so far. The Ducks defeated No. 14 Iona in round one and survived No. 11 Rhode Island (by three points) in the second round.
Computer rating systems such as the Massey Ratings or KenPom see this as a supremely even matchup. The mean difference in expected points, according to Massey, is less than half a point (in Oregon’s favor). KenPom similarly likes Oregon by about three-quarters of a point per 100 possessions.
All the matchups are good at this point in the tournament, but this one looks to be an especially good game.
