Round 6

Could Bob Quinn look to a Penn State defensive end with one of his sixth round picks for the second year in a row? By not taking a defensive end in this mock until the fourth round, doubling down with another pick could be a good strategy given the team’s need.

Like Anthony Zettel a year ago, Garrett Sickels had a productive career on the Penn State defensive line but faces questions at the next level. The team picking him will hope they can get some of that production while making Sickels a rotational/situation player in hopes he develops into a dependable backup.

The 2016 season was a step down for Jehu Chesson compared to his breakout 2015 season for the Michigan Wolverines and that will be reflected in his draft stock. He got a bit of a reputation as a speed guy for the Wolverines to get the ball in his hands but Chesson didn’t time out as a top performer in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and he had trouble separating from cornerbacks.

Still, he warrants a look as a late-round option as a receiver with some size and speed who could develop into something. Corey Fuller didn’t work out, but maybe Chesson will.
