Detroit Red Wings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight to face the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is the last time the Leafs will be at Joe Louis Arena.
The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight after a three game road trip. The Red Wings won the first game in Carolina but have lost the last two games. The Red Wings lost 5-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. In that game Anthony Mantha broke his finger during a fight and will miss the rest of the season.
The Lightning swept the Red Wings this season and this has become a very heated rivalry. The Red Wings haven’t done their part though in this rivalry so far.
Not only have the Lightning beaten the Red Wings in the playoffs the last two years but now they won all five games against the Red Wings this year. Tonight, the Red Wings face the Toronto Maple Leafs for the final time at Joe Louis Arena. Like the Lightning, the Maple Leafs have beaten the Red Wings every time this season.
The Maple Leafs have their eyes on making the playoffs. They’re currently third in the Atlantic, two points behind Ottawa for second. The Red Wings, meanwhile, have the sixth-fewest points in the league and are looking at (hopefully) a top five pick in June’s NHL Draft.
