Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox: Opening Day Game Time, TV, Live Stream
By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers play the Chicago White Sox on Opening Day. Here’s how you can watch the games on TV or streaming online.
The Detroit Tigers will celebrate Opening Day on Monday afternoon on the road against the Chicago White Sox. It’s game one of what is scheduled to be a three-game series.
The White Sox were one of he more active teams this offseason, but the majority of their transactions were made to position their club for the future, not necessarily to get better right now. Exiting the club was their best pitcher from 2016, Chris Sale, and their best position player, Adam Eaton.
The White Sox got a handful of promising prospects in the return trades — pitchers Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez and infielder Yoan Moncada, now their three top prospects — but none of the three are slated to begin the season in the major leagues.
The Tigers enter the season with hopes of challenging the Cleveland Indians for the division crown. They looked like sellers when the offseason began but the front office opted to keep the group together once it became clear that they were not going to get the type of trade haul they were hoping for in return for any of their star players.
It’s a long season, but the climb to the top of the standings begins now. Here’s the lineup the Tigers will use on opening day against left hander Jose Quintana.
Here’s all the information you’ll nee to find today’s game on TV or streaming online.
