Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox: Opening Day Makeup Game Time, TV, Live Stream
By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox will play their Opening Day game on Tuesday after Monday’s scheduled opener was postponed due to rain.
The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox didn’t get to play Monday’s scheduled Opening Day game after the rain refused to let up. They’re the only two teams in the major leagues who haven’t played yet, but they’ll get a chance to try again today.
Weather in Chicago for Tuesday calls for cloudy skies but only a very small chance of rain during the scheduled game time.
Justin Verlander will get the start for the Tigers. He’s looking to repeat last year’s success that vaulted him back into the Cy Young Award conversation in the American League (he finished as the runner up in the award voting). Verlander pitched 227 innings last season with 254 strikeouts (the second-highest total of his career) and a 3.04 ERA.
Jose Quintana is slated to take the ball for the White Sox. He also garnered Cy Young attention in 2016, finishing tenth with a 3.20 ERA in 208 innings.
With both teams’ starters pushed back a day, the Tigers are expected the use the same lineup. Here were Brad Ausmus‘ choices, according to Jason Beck’s tweet.
Here’s all the information you’ll nee to find today’s game on TV or streaming online.
