Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers remain in Chicago for the second of a three-game series against the White Sox. Here’s how you can find the game on TV or streaming online.
The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox had their offseasons extended by one day after Monday’s scheduled Opening Day contest was postponed due to excessive rain. They were able to play on Tuesday, however, with the Tigers coming away as 6-3 victors.
The White Sox scored the first run of the season in the bottom of the first inning when a Melky Cabrera triple drove home Tyler Saladino. The Tigers would respond immediately take command of the game in the top of the second inning.
A Justin Upton single and Mikie Mahtook hit-by-pitch put two runners aboard when JaCoby Jones stepped to the plate and blasted the first home run of his career. The inning would continue. Ian Kinsler drew a walk and Nick Castellanos followed with a two-run home run to put the Tigers on top by a 5-1 score.
Detroit extended the lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning on a Kinsler solo home run. The White Sox would add single runs in the fourth and ninth innings but didn’t really threaten the Tigers on this day.
Justin Verlander was his usual brilliant self. He struck out 10 batters in 6.1 innings of work and allowed just two runs.
The Tigers will have to contend with rain once again on Wednesday afternoon. The weather forecast calls for temperatures in the low 30s with high chances of rain all afternoon. We’ll have to hope a window opens up and they can get the game in.
