Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox: Opening Day Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers will celebrate Opening Day at Comerica Park with the start of a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox.
The Detroit Tigers leave Chicago with a split of what ended up being a two-game series with the White Sox. Rain caused two postponements, one of which will have to be made up as part of a doubleheader in May.
The club’s attention now turns to the Boston Red Sox who come to Detroit to open Comerica Park for the season with a four-game series. Hopefully weather issues are in the past for the time being. It should be a chilly day in Detroit for the home opener with temperatures expected to reach into the low-to-mid 40s.
The Tigers will turn to Michael Fulmer to right the ship after yesterday’s 11-2 loss. Fulmer won the Rookie of the Year Award in the American League last season and finished in tenth place in the league’s Cy Young Award voting. Fulmer is already being counted upon to be an anchor in the rotation.
Boston will send knuckleballer Steven Wright to the mound. Wright earned his first All-Star appearance last year as a 31-year old. He ended the season with a 3.33 ERA in 24 starts for the Red Sox.
