The Detroit Red Wings awful season is mercifully ending this weekend. Tonight the Red Wings face the Montreal Canadiens.
The Red Wings are coming off a 2-0 loss in Ottawa on Tuesday night. The Canadiens meanwhile have clinched the Atlantic Division.
Tonight marks the final time the Canadiens visit Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings and Canadiens have split the season series so far, so the winner of this game will win the season series.
The Detroit Red Wings most likely will start Petr Mrazek tonight and Jimmy Howard on Sunday for the season finale.
Mrazek is looking to end the season on a positive note tonight as he has struggled for most of the season.
Mrazek is a big piece for the future of this team and needs to have a rebound season next year.
Both teams come into tonight’s game struggling. The Red Wings have lost four of their last five games while the Canadiens have lost two straight.
