The Detroit Tigers will wrap up the four-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon at Comerica Park.

The Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox will conclude their four-game weekend wraparound series with the finale at Comerica Park on Monday afternoon. The Tigers took the first two games of the series but blew a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers will turn to ace Justin Verlander on Monday as they attempt to win their first home series of the season. The Red Sox will counter with an ace of their own in the form of lanky left-hander Chris Sale.

Both Verlander and Sale were dominant in their first starts of the season. Sale threw seven innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts in Boston’s opening day win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Verlander surrendered two runs but fanned 10 batters against the Chicago White Sox in Tuesday’s opening day makeup.

The Tigers’ bullpen has blown two saves in this series (though the offense helped them come back to win on Friday), so they’ll be hoping for a quality (and deep) outing for Verlander.
