Little Caesars Arena will be busy with more than just Red Wings and Pistons games as NCAA announces more big events coming to the Detroit sports scene.
The new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit was already scheduled to host NCAA men’s basketball tournament games in 2018, but picked up three more big events in NCAA announcements today.
The next big event will be the 2020 Division I men’s hockey Frozen Four.

That will mark the seventh time the Frozen Four has come to Detroit and will make Little Caesars Arena the fourth Detroit venue to host the event. The 1977 and 1979 Frozen Four was held at Olympia Stadium, 1985, 1987 and 1990 was at Joe Louis Arena and Ford Field was the last Detroit site to host in 2010.

The NCAA men’s basketball tournament will return to LCA in 2021, once again for first and second round games.
Additionally, LCA will be the site of the 2022 Division I wrestling championships.
Next: Detroit Lions Seven-Round Mock Draft 4.0
It’s a nice haul of national events for the new arena but hopefully just the start of more to come to downtown Detroit. Detroit Lions president Rod Wood has indicated a desire to attempt bringing events like the NFL Draft and another Super Bowl to Ford Field.
