Round 6

Quarterback prospects at the Shrine Bowl generally left a lot to be desired but Penn’s Alek Torgersen separated himself while there. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein had the following report on day two of Shrine Game practice:

"Torgersen looked the part and threw the ball with some zip. He’s clearly the most talented of the quarterbacks out here to me. Torgersen played a lower level of competition, but he has some size, some arm strength, some mobility. You can see he has some projectable talent."

A record-setting Ivy League quarterback just sounds like something Bob Quinn would take a late-round chance on. Production, smarts, traits.

Good completion percentages and high touchdown to low interception numbers look good at his level of competition. It’s just a matter of whether or not Torgersen can translate that to the NFL game.
