7. player. 50. . Wide Receiver. 1949-1954. Cloyce Box

Cloyce Box‘s career in Detroit was short but he played a huge part in getting the Lions an NFL championship. After picking up 1,009 yards in 1950, Box was drafted into the military and missed the 1951 season.

Upon his return, he led the NFL with 15 touchdown receptions and also racked up 924 yards as the Lions won the NFL championship and Box was named first-team All-Pro. His role was reduced the next year, but he was still a part of the team that won a second straight NFL title.

Box’s 15 receiving touchdowns in 1952 stood as the franchise’s single-season record until 2011 when Calvin Johnson hauled in 16.

Box retired after the 1954 season. The first five episodes of the TV show “Dallas” were recorded on his Frisco, Texas ranch in 1978.
