You can’t paint a complete picture about these players without talking about all three of them.

The Lions’ offense during the mid-1990s—led by Barry Sanders—was one of the NFL’s best and Herman Moore was the centerpiece of the Lions receiving corps.

Moore was drafted in the first round in 1991 and had at least 900 receiving yards in seven straight seasons from 1992-1998. He was flanked by either Brett Perriman or Johnnie Morton for every one of those seasons, and Perriman and Morton themselves combined for six 1,000 yard seasons with the Lions.

In 1995, the Lions’ offense reached a special level. Moore set an NFL record with 123 receptions and combined with Perriman for over 3,000 receiving yards. The three receivers, along with Morton, combined for 39 touchdowns and over 400 receptions.

Moore was named to the Pro Bowl four times and ended his career with 9,174 yards and 62 touchdowns on 670 receptions. Perriman’s career ended after the 1996 season and Morton finished his career with Kansas City and San Francisco.
