After the release of the 2017-2018 NBA schedule, I decided to make some predictions of how I expect the season to shake out for the Detroit Pistons.

Yesterday, the NBA released the 2017-2018 schedule. More specifically, the Detroit Pistons schedule was finally released. We now know that Detroit will be opening their season against the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 18 at home. So not only is it Detroit’s opening night, but also the first game at Little Caesars Arena, beginning a new era for the Pistons.

While I pondered the idea of going over the schedule and predicting what the final record would be, or which games would be key matchups, I decided against it. There is no way I would even be close to predicting those things. I don’t know anybody outside of Las Vegas that would be.

I mean, last season I assumed the Pistons would be a playoff team. Injuries and leadership troubles led to that being an awful prediction.

Instead, I thought I would have some fun and make some bold season predictions that will either make me look like a guru or an overly excited fan. Either way, I’m ready to live with the repercussions of my thoughts. So let’s get into this.
