The NBA season is coming and with it so is the new edition of NBA 2K. 2K18 has added in all-time rosters this year, so let’s look at the Detroit Pistons.

The NBA 2K franchise has become a staple of gaming for basketball fans. This season, the game will include all-time teams for franchises, instead of just having specific teams from the past.

The Detroit Pistons team is littered with players from both championship runs, along with some stars that weren’t as successful from a team standpoint. Overall, I like the team, but there are a couple big omissions.

My first issue is Andre Drummond‘s inclusion. I don’t think he’s a top player in the franchise’s history yet, but I get why he’s here. He definitely has the potential to be the second best center in Pistons history (Ben Wallace will forever be number one to me), but he hasn’t earned this yet. In five years get Drummond on here because I think he will have proven himself by then.

I think Drummond had to be on this team, though, because he’s arguably the best player on the team in the moment. Removing Drummond would make the most recent players Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace, due to their second stint as Pistons. They were great in their primes but definitely didn’t get on this team from those farewell tour seasons.

The biggest omissions, in my opinion, are the two remaining starters from the 2003-2004 Pistons: Rasheed Wallace and Tayshaun Prince.

Sheed missing has to be something with not wanting his likeness in the game. He would probably be rated around the same as Bill Laimbeer, and if I were to play with him on the team he would be in my starting lineup. You could call Sheed the piece that won Detroit its third title after his midseason addition. His 2K presence would be amazing since his skill set transfers to today’s NBA so well.

Meanwhile, Prince is one of the more underrated players in NBA history. His value to Detroit was huge though, as he was guarding the opposing team’s best wing nightly. Not to mention taking on LeBron James for years. Adding Prince really speaks to the team’s culture, as Detroit is a team that always thrives when it is great defensively.

So what do you all think? Anybody that you believe is missing? Or anybody that you really don’t understand what they are doing on this team? Do you think the starting lineup should be different? Let me know!
