Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills: Game time, TV, radio, live stream
By Zac Snyder
With the Detroit Lions set to take on the Buffalo Bills in week 4 of the 2017 preseason, here is all the important info you need for today’s game.
Don’t expect to see much, if any, of the Detroit Lions’ starters tonight in the preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills. No, tonight isn’t about the starters; it’s about the guys deeper on the roster who are fighting to stick with the team into the regular season.
Last year it was Kerry Hyder who had a monster game in the preseason finale to help cement his place on the 53-man roster. Will we see someone similarly step up tonight?
There are several reserve roles still up for grabs. The release of offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio thinned that battle some but the final offensive line roster spots are still up for grabs. It’s a similar situation at defensive back where guys like Johnson Bademosi and Alex Carter will look to leave a good last impression.
It’s an important game even for those who find themselves on the wrong side of the roster bubble. Fringe players are not only auditioning for their current team but for potential future teams as well. Putting out some good tape could be the difference between a young player landing a spot on some team’s practice squad and waiting into the regular season for the phone to ring.
