Game 10 at Maryland Terrapins

Maryland has not been the sad sack addition to the Big Ten that Rutgers is — they have a great basketball tradition! — but neither have they been particularly great on the gridiron. Their best overall record since joining the league was their 7-6 finish in 2014, and they’ve never been above .500 in conference games. They’re 8-17 all-time in Big Ten play.

Maryland’s schedule is a tough one. They play at Texas and at Wisconsin in addition to their normal Big Ten East schedule. It could be a tough year for Maryland, even if they’re getting better as a program.

I can’t say enough about the standard road game caveat, but Michigan should have too much talent to lose to Maryland. Michigan is probably going to be in the Big Ten East race, and Maryland is decidedly not going to be.

Maryland is coached by former Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, so they should have be somewhat familiar with Harbaugh-coached teams and their tendencies, but the coaches can’t go on the field and execute for the players. Michigan is the better team; they need to prove it against teams like Maryland.

Prediction: Win (9-1)
