November 11: at Ohio State

Michigan State will exit their thrashing against the Nittany Lions and head out to Columbus where the national championship-seeking Buckeyes will be waiting. Yay.

Fortunately for Michigan State, even when Ohio State has been the better team in an Urban Meyer-era matchup (which has been basically every matchup except perhaps the 2013 Big Ten championship game) the games have mostly been competitive. The weather in November isn’t the best and Ohio State loves to run the ball, so this game probably won’t be a blowout.

Kevin Wilson, the architect of Indiana’s offense of the past few seasons, joins Meyer to shore up the Buckeyes’ offense, led again by J.T. Barrett, who has probably been at Ohio State since the Bush administration. Couple that with a returning Mike Weber and four returning starting offensive linemen, and the offense should run over Michigan State all game long.

It seems like Ohio State’s entire defense went to the NFL, but they’re stocked with enough blue chip prospects who will have their game sorted out by November to keep Michigan State’s offense from doing much. Buckeyes roll. Ohio State 34 – Michigan State 17 (2-8)
