USMNT vs. Honduras: World Cup Qualifying match time, TV, live stream
By Matt Snyder
The USMNT takes on Honduras in a World Cup Qualifying match. Here’s how you can find the game on TV or streaming online.
The United States Men’s National Team made life difficult for themselves on Friday night when they fell to Costa Rica by a 2-0 margin. The USMNT remain in third place, but Honduras has drawn even with eight points (the United States leads in goal differential). A win is needed tonight to assure themselves of a top-three place heading into October’s final qualifiers.
The situation is not dire for the United States — their three remaining games are against the bottom three in the table: Honduras, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago — but they can now ill-afford stub their toes again.
The USMNT will be the more talented team in each of their remaining qualifiers — as they will be tonight — but they cannot take the victory for granted. They will need to play inspired soccer if they hope to come out of Honduras will all three points. Funny things can happen in CONCACAF play, particularly on the road in Central America.
With no margin for error to speak of, Bruce Arena will likely employ his top lineup (or as close to it as he can come with his current roster). A loss tonight would be a complete disaster as the United States could find themselves in fifth place if Panama were to also win their home match with Trinidad and Tobago (a distinct possibility).
