Detroit Lions: Game-by-game predictions for the 2017 season
By Zac Snyder
Week 16: at Cincinnati Bengals
For the first time since 2010, the AFC playoffs went on without the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016. The Bengals’ 6-9-1 record last season was a big step back for a team that had made the playoffs five years in a row.
With all five of those playoff appearances ending with Wild Card losses, it stands to wonder whether or not this era of Bengals football is about to close. If the Bengals’ season has them on the path to missing the playoffs again, it wouldn’t be out of the question for the organization to start looking to the future, perhaps even with an interim head coach.
This could be another “toss-up” game on the schedule like discussed for the Ravens game. A case could be made that the Lions face just as much uncertainty as the Bengals, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt in this one.
Prediction: Win (7-8)
