Detroit Lions: Game-by-game predictions for the 2017 season
By Zac Snyder
Week 9: at Green Bay Packers
The Lions may have gotten the road losing streak monkey off their back with a win at Lambeau during the 2015 season but last year showed that we shouldn’t expect road wins against the Packers on the regular.
The halftime whistle was about that could slow the Packers through the first two quarters at Lambeau last season as the Packers got out to a 31-3 lead with Aaron Rodgers throwing for four first half touchdowns.
The final score looked closer than the game felt for much of the duration as the Packers dialed it back and the Lions put together some second half scoring drives. The final seven point margin was as close as the Lions would get.
As much as it pains this Lions fan to say, the Packers remain the ideal the Lions have to chase down to compete for NFC North championships. We’ve seen them come close only to ultimately fall short. With a gap still close, losses should still be expected when the Lions head to Lambeau.
Prediction: Loss (3-5)
