With the Detroit Lions set to take on the New York Giants in week 2 of the 2017 NFL Season, here is all the important info you need for today’s game.

A road trip to take on the New York Giants wasn’t kind to the Detroit Lions in 2016. It was the first game following the finger injury Matthew Stafford suffered against the Chicago Bears and the Lions offense couldn’t solve the Giants defense.

The 17-6 loss at MetLife Stadium was the first of the team’s four-game losing streak to end the 2016 season. Flipping the script on the Giants tonight means getting off to a 2-0 start, which would make the Lions one of only three NFC teams to start with a pair of wins.

However, getting a win won’t be easy, as it never is on the road in the NFL. The Giants may have struggled against the Dallas Cowboys in their opener, but their defense made moving the ball difficult on the Cowboys and will pose a challenge to the Lions.

On the other side of the ball, the Lions will have to treat Eli Manning like they treated Carson Palmer. In the opener, the Lions got just enough pressure on Palmer to make him uncomfortable in the pocket leading to inaccurate throws and three interceptions. The Giants offensive line is a mess and the Lions have to take advantage of that to disrupt the passing game.
