The Michigan football team takes on Purdue in the season’s first true road game. Here’s how you can find the game on TV or streaming online.

The Michigan football team will hit the road for their Big Ten Conference opener on Saturday when they travel to take on the Purdue Boilermakers. Michigan holds a three-game winning streak against Purdue, but the two sides haven’t met on the gridiron since 2012.

Purdue is off to their best start in years with a 2-1 record. They lost a close contest with Louisville to open the season but have ripped off back-to-back convincing wins against Ohio and Missouri (by 23 and 32 points respectively). Neither the Bobcats nor Tigers look like strong teams this season, but Purdue has performed as one of the worst programs in the bowl subdivision over the last four years. Any step forward for their program is a significant one.

Michigan will try to steady the ship after shaky wins over Cincinnati and Air Force. The final scores look respectable in both games (they won by 22 and 16), but both games were close deep into the third quarter. The Wolverines should have more talent than most of the teams on their schedule (Purdue included), but they haven’t been able to consistently punch the ball into the end zone on offense and have subjected themselves to uneven play.

Quarterback Wilton Speight has drawn the ire of many Michigan fans with throwing accuracy issues. The second-year starter will need to provide consistency in the passing game if Michigan is to avoid making this game overly interesting. If the Michigan offense stutters, Purdue could capitalize with an offense that has averaged nearly 36 points per game this season.
