The middle of the Detroit Lions’ offense and defense will be relying on backups against the Atlanta Falcons with Travis Swanson and Jarrad Davis out.

The Detroit Lions have released their list of gameday inactives for week three against the Atlanta Falcons and it is not a pretty picture.

Dwayne Washington, Tavon Wilson and Jarrad Davis had all been ruled out on the final injury report of the week, but the Lions will be without another starter today: center Travis Swanson.

Swanson was able to finish last week’s game against the New York Giants but did not practice at all this week with an ankle injury. The fact he was able to play through it on Monday night gave hope that he would play this week, but that is not the case.

With Swanson out of the lineup, Graham Glasgow will shift from his left guard position to center, with Zac Kerin filling in for Glasgow. Joe Dahl may have been another option to get a start but he was questionable with a lower leg injury and also left inactive today.

Already without Taylor Decker at left tackle, the Lions will play today without their top choices on the entire left side of the offensive line and center. How that group performs today will be key in determining how this game goes.

Fortunately for the Lions, the Falcons will be without Vic Beasley and will need to make up for his pass rushing ability. They will also be down an offensive lineman as starting right tackle Ryan Schraeder is out with a concussion.
