Quarterback

As a reminder from week one, here’s how this works. Let’s get to the picks.

Start: Matthew Stafford (vs. Atlanta Falcons, 48.7% start percentage)

Stafford has been excellent in his first two starts, despite two turnovers and only throwing for 122 yards a week ago. In what is likely to be a shootout agaisnt the Falcons on Sunday, he’s very likely to have another multiple-touchdown game.

Sit: Dak Prescott (at Arizona Cardinals, 53.3%)

The Cardinals’ pass defense might not be as strong as it was last season, and it’s hard to tell between giving up 292 yards and four touchdowns to a good Detroit Lions’ offense in week one and then 216 yards and no touchdowns to a bad Indianapolis Colts’ offense in week two. Still, in a week with a lot of good quarterback matchups, Prescott numbers will probably only be middling this week, so if you’ve got a better option, roll with him.

Pickup: Alex Smith (at Los Angeles Chargers, on a roster in 43.7% of leagues)

Smith is the top fantasy quarterback through two weeks. He’s not going to keep that up, most likely, but if you need a starter, Smith is a good pickup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Drop: Andrew Luck (82.5%)

There’s no point in keeping Luck on your roster. He’s not playing again this week and probably won’t be 100% when he comes back. Given that the Colts have been awful without him, they probably won’t improve to “good” when he does come back.
