Detroit Lions inactives: Jarrad Davis remains out vs. Vikings
By Zac Snyder
Detroit Lions middle linebacker Jarrad Davis returned to practice this week but will remain out against the Minnesota Vikings in week four.
The Detroit Lions run defense had been stout through two weeks, then Jarrad Davis went out with a concussion after being hit from behind by New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. With Davis out, the Atlanta Falcons ran at will on the Lions last week.
There had been optimism that Davis would return to face the Minnesota Vikings in week four. He returned to practice, making it through as a limited participant all week before being listed as “questionable” to play on the final week four injury report. A neck injury was added to the injury report in addition to the concussion and one or both will keep him out of action today.
Joining Davis on the Lions’ inactive list for this week are:
WR Kenny Golladay
S Don Carey
RB Tion Green
RB Dwayne Washington
G Tim Lelito
LB Thurston Armbrister
Golladay was questionable but it was expected the Lions would be cautious with their rookie wide receiver. Dwayne Washington had already been ruled out on Friday and Thurston Armbrister was just re-signed to the roster after the Lions placed guard Zac Kerin on injured reserve yesterday.
Guard Tim Lelito is also a new addition to the roster this week and will be inactive with center Travis Swanson returning to the lineup, allowing Graham Glasgow to shift back to left guard.
