The Michigan State Spartans will visit their rivals, the #7 Michigan Wolverines, on Saturday night to play for the Paul Bunyan trophy.
The Michigan State Spartans will look to upset their biggest rivals on Saturday as they visit Ann Arbor, Mich. to take on the #7 Michigan Wolverines on national television.
The Spartans are coming off a 17-10 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes, a game in which quarterback Brian Lewerke threw two first-quarter touchdown passes to Felton Davis III and Hawkeyes’ quarterback Nathan Stanley forgot how to play football.
The Wolverines are 4-0, led by one of the nation’s best defenses, giving up only 13.5 points per game and no more than 17 through the first four weeks of the season. Senior quarterback John O’Korn has played well so far filling in for the injured Wilton Speight and senior running back Ty Isaac is averaging 89 yards per game and 6.2 yards per carry.

Line: The Wolverines are a 10.5-point favorite and the over/under is 40. ESPN gives the Wolverines an 85.7% chance of winning.
Series History: The Wolverines lead the all-time series 69-35-5, including a win last year’s matchup, 32-23. The Spartans have won seven of the last nine matchups between the two teams but won only eight of the 38 meetings between 1970 and 2008.
TV: The game will be nationally broadcast on ABC, with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor on the call.
