The Detroit Red Wings face the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight in Toronto. The Red Wings are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

The Detroit Red Wings head to Toronto tonight to face the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs come into tonights game winners of two straight games.

The Red Wings look to get their first win against the Maple Leafs since April 2nd, 2016. They were swept by the Maple Leafs last season.

On Monday, the Red Wings lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2. The Lightning also swept the Red Wings last season. Red Wing killer Tyler Johnson got the scoring started in the first period and Nikita Kucherov added a goal in the first.

The Red Wings scored two goals of their own in the second period to tie the game. Justin Abdelkader scored on the first penalty shot ever at Little Caesars Arena. Mike Green scored the tying goal late in the second period. Green has been one of the pleasant surprises so far this season.

Jeff Blashill thought the Red Wings were better five-on-five than the Lightning but weren’t very good on special teams. The Red Wings have to be much better on special teams tonight for them to beat the Maple Leafs.

As of this writing, no starting goalie has been named yet. Jimmy Howard has been the better goalie for the Red Wings but had a rough start on Monday. Here is all the important information for tonight’s game
