The Detroit Red Wings welcome the Washington Capitals to town tonight. Both teams are looking to end a two game losing streak.

The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight to face Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. The Red Wings are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.

After giving up three goals in the first 16 minutes, Jimmy Howard was pulled and Petr Mrazek was put in. Mrazek didn’t fare much better though. He gave up a goal on the first shot he faced and just as the Red Wings made it a 4-3 game, Mrazek gave up another one. The Leafs would add a empty netter to seal the game and hand the Red Wings their second straight loss.

After seven games the Red Wings are 4-3. This team is a lot faster than I thought and the defense has played better than I thought especially Mike Green. The last two games have showed that the Red Wings still have a long way to go to catch the Tampa Bay Lightning and Maple Leafs.

Tonight’s game against the Capitals is against another team that is expected to be better than the Red Wings. The Capitals come into tonight’s game on a two game losing streak and losers of four of their last five games. Alex Ovechkin though has been red hot as he leads the league in goals this season.
