The Detroit Lions get a week to recover but their fans still have a bunch of snacks to work through. Here is how Lions fans should be rooting in week seven.

This Sunday, rather than getting out and going on a hike or getting back in touch with loved ones I will be watching football. There will be something odd about the jerseys though. There will be a startling lack of Honolulu blue and silver dancing across my screen. Much to my wife’s eternal gratitude, I will not be screaming at the TV for anyone to “stop running the zone stretch play.”

The Bye week is upon us, Detroit Lions fans, and this week we can watch whatever seems like it’s the best game. I may even fire up the red zone channel and just be fed highlights for six or seven hours.

In honor of this yearly holiday from having my heart ripped out, thrown on the floor, and stomped on a few times before it is shocked back to life and put back in, I thought I would write up a rundown of the games that Lions fans might consider watching this week and why. With any luck we’ll be treated to some divisional losses, I am predicting two.

The Lions are 3-3 are right in the thick of the NFC wildcard race at this point. I have omitted the Colts and Jaguars game because that outcome has no effect on the Lions. Here is what each game on the schedule means to the Lions this week.
