Primetime games

The Atlanta Falcons face the New England Patriots in the clearest case of the week. A Falcons loss drops them to .500, making the Lions quest for the playoffs just a little bit easier.

The Patriots have no effect on the Lions playoff or division chances this season. There is no significant downside to a Patriots’ win Sunday night.

On Monday Night Football the Washington Redskins take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The only way this affects the Lions is in the strength of schedule and strength of victory tiebreakers.

The Eagles only play the Bears in 2017, and the Redskins take on the Vikings later this year. Because of that Lions fans should probably be rooting for the Eagles.
