The Detroit Red Wings begin a three game road trip tonight in Buffalo. The Sabres are coming off a 5-4 overtime win against the Boston Bruins.

The Detroit Red Wings look to rebound tonight after an embarrassing performance on Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks. That was by far the worst game the Red Wings have had so far this season, losing 4-1 and it wasn’t even that close.

The Red Wings now head to Buffalo tonight to face the Sabres. Both teams come into tonight’s game struggling. The Sabres have lost seven of their first nine games while the Red Wings have lost five straight games. The Sabres come into tonight’s game struggling on defense. They currently rank 28th in the league in goals against average at 3.9 goals per game.

In fact, they’ve only given up three goals or fewer three times this season. They have given up four goals or more in six of their first nine games. The Red Wings haven’t fared much better lately as they’ve given up four goals or more in their last three games.

Tonight could be a another high scoring game. It will be interesting to see who the Red Wings have in net tonight, as Jimmy Howard has struggled in his last two starts. Petr Mrazek on the other hand played his best game of season on Friday night against the Washington Capitals.

The Sabres goaltending is in shambles as both of their goalies are giving up over three goals per game. I expect a high scoring game tonight and in my opinion the Red Wings need to win this game. Here is all the important info you need for today’s game.
