The #24 Michigan State Spartans and #7 Penn State Nittany Lions will face off for the Land Grant Trophy on Saturday at noon at Spartan Stadium.
The Spartans are coming off a triple-overtime defeat against the Northwestern Wildcats last week that gave them their first loss of the conference season. Quarterback Brian Lewerke has been quietly efficient, completing 61.4% of his passes and throwing for 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 343 yards.
The Nittany Lions lost to the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes a week ago, 39-38, and are looking to rebound to stay within a game of the Buckeyes in the Big Ten East. Saquon Barkley is one of college football’s best players, averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and Trace McSorley has thrown for 16 touchdowns to give the Nittany Lions balance.
