Spectacular performances abound in the Detroit Lions’ week nine win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football.

The Detroit Lions were 1-24 in their last 24 games in Lambeau field. Now they are 2-1 in their last three. The Lions dominated every aspect of the game, even blocking a field goal on the Green Bay Packers’ first possession.

This week the choice is which performance in each aspect of the game stands out the most. There were multiple great performances in each.

The Lions game ball for the offense goes to Marvin Jones. Jones has now made at least six catches in four consecutive games, and he has back to back 100+ yard games. He had 107 yards on 7 catches tonight. Most importantly though, he followed up a week where the Lions failed to punch the ball in with a pair of receiving touchdowns. For getting the team on the board and never taking his foot off the gas, Marvin Jones gets the week nine Lions game ball for the Offense.

The Lions game ball for the defense goes to Tahir Whitehead. All night Whitehead was living in the Packers backfield, recording a sack, and blowing up multiple short passes from Brett Hundley. Whitehead had five tackles on the night, second on the Lions roster to rookie Jarrad Davis. This may have been Whitehead’s best game since 2014.

After a demoralizing opening drive by the packers that ate up over eight minutes of clock, the Packers came away with nothing. Sure there was a bad snap preceding the block, but yet again A’Shawn Robinson showed off his almost supernatural ability to get his hand on the ball near the line of scrimmage. Matt Prater did make three field goals and three extra points, but frankly, I am tired of giving him this award almost every week.

The Lions broke their losing streak, and have hopefully inspired ESPN to come up with a few different talking points for the next time they’re doing one of these games. The Lions are giving them no shortage of topics more relevant that the roll call of Matthew Stafford‘s high school yearbook.
