NFL Combine 2018: Defensive back workout schedule
By Zac Snyder
The on-field workouts at the 2018 NFL Combine come to a close on Monday as two groups of defensive backs get their chance to run and jump for scouts.
Three days of on-field workouts are in the books, leaving just today’s festivities before the 2018 NFL Combine comes to a close. Just the defensive backs remain to take the field.
Will we see a future Detroit Lions player out there today? It’s possible, but probably not as good of a chance as with yesterday’s group of defensive players. Glover Quin remains a mainstay in the Lions secondary after signing a contract extension as training camp began last year and Quandre Diggs made an impressive move to safety to play alongside him last season.
At cornerback, D.J. Hayden and Nevin Lawson are set to become free agents but Darius Slay is locked in as one starting corner and 2017 second round pick Teez Tabor may be counted on to help fill avoid opposite him. Add in fellow 2017 draft pick Jamal Agnew competing for playing time as the slot corner and the Lions may not be looking for more youth at corner.
That being said, if there is a corner or safety at some point in the draft that Bob Quinn feels is too good of a value to pass up, there is certainly room to add another defensive back to the mix.
Here is a rundown of what to expect, with details for how you can follow along on Monday starting at 9 a.m. ET.
