The Detroit Lions have six picks in the seven rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. Here’s a full mock draft of what they could do with those picks.

The Detroit Lions have some needs that stand out from the rest but there is still a few different ways they could approach the top of the 2018 NFL Draft. Holding the 20th pick in the first round, much of what the Lions do will be dependent on what happens in the 19 picks before them. A run on players at one position at a need could lead to them looking elsewhere while a run on quarterbacks in the top 20 could mean an unexpected prize falling in their lap.

Then what happens at the top of the draft will have an impact on what the Lions do later on. It is on that premise that I’ve done my Lions seven-round mock draft series over the last couple years and now it’s time to kick off the 2018 edition.

As with this series in previous years, I’ll start each version off with not only a different player from previous versions but a player at a completely different position. That way I’m forcing a look at a different scenario each time.

Let’s get a few things out of the way up front before we get on with the picks. This is not meant to be a prediction of what the Lions will do, nor is it necessarily what I think the Lions should do. This is just a look at what they could do – at least within the parameters of Fanspeak’s mock draft simulator set to run using Matt Miller of Bleacher Report’s prospect rankings.

Mock drafts are supposed to be fun, so let’s have some fun together.
