Blake Griffin has become the Detroit Pistons’ go-to guy. His numbers in the month of March are staggering, averaging 23 points per game.

Yes, Blake Griffin and the Detroit Pistons are going to miss the playoffs a second straight season. Yes, they’ve been on the decline.

Rumors have surfaced about Stan Van Gundy potentially losing his job. The Pistons are tied up in hefty contracts and have a mediocre roster.

Can we all take a second to appreciate what Griffin is doing even with all of the negativity surrounding the team?

Griffin hasn’t missed a beat since being traded to the Pistons from the Los Angeles Clippers. He’s taken the role of being the Pistons’ go-to guy on the court.

His numbers in his last ten games are staggering.

Blake Griffin is shooting better than 46 percent from the field during the month of March. He’s also shooting better than 46 percent from three-point range.

This has bumped up his points per game average. Griffin is averaging 23 points per game in the month of March.

He’s still contributing in other ways during this stretch of time. Griffin is averaging better than six assists and six rebounds as well.

He’s openly talked about how he’s happy to be in Detroit. Marc J. Spear’s article in The Undefeated shares Griffin’s thoughts and opinions on this idea:

"“If I wasn’t happy with where I was at or excited to be here, it would take a little bit longer,” Griffin said. “But as soon as I got here to Detroit, the franchise, the way they go about taking care of the players, the way they do everything, is first-class, so that makes the transition much easier. [Coach] Stan [Van Gundy] and the whole staff has been awesome. I’m not looking back.”"

Look, it’s not Griffin’s fault that the Pistons are in rough shape. Can we just be happy that they finally have a star of Griffin’s caliber in Detroit?

Due to current circumstances, it will take a lot of work to get any help around Griffin and Andre Drummond in the near future. Let’s just appreciate the man while he’s here.
