According to a photo going around on social media, the Detroit Lions’ 2018 road game against the Packers will be in week 4 on Monday Night Football.

The NFL will officially release the 2018 regular season schedule tonight at 8 p.m. but certain aspects are already starting to come into focus.

We already know that the Detroit Lions will not play any international games, and there is a report that the Lions will host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in week one. There are also conflicting rumors about that Jets game that says it will be on Thanksgiving, however.

If the New York Post report about the Jets game being in week one is correct, the Lions appear poised to get a lot of early run on Monday Night Football. According to a photo going around on social media, the Lions will play their annual road game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in week four.

A primetime game is always nice but the even better news is that the Lions get to head to Green Bay early in the season when the weather should be better than they might get later in November or December.

The authenticity of this photo is not known at this time. As some have pointed out on Twitter, it appears to present a conflict between the Packers-Rams game and the Chiefs-Rams game that has already been announced to be played in Mexico City.

[Update: file this under pure fiction now that other reports have surfaced.]

The photo would also eliminate the Packers as a Lions Thanksgiving opponent as it says the Packers will play on Thanksgiving, but as the night game against the Bears in Chicago.

That eliminates a pair of NFC North opponents as the Thanksgiving opponent, and the Minnesota Vikings have already been the opponent for the last two years. If the NFC North teams and Jets are off the table, that leaves the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots as potential Thanksgiving opponents since those are the other teams that will play in Detroit this season.
