Detroit Lions news takes a look at the recently released real schedule of fake games the team will play to get ready for the real 2018 games.

The NFL preseason schedule has been out for a couple weeks but while we knew who the Detroit Lions would play and the order of the opponents, exact dates and times were left to be announced at a later date. It turns out that later date is today.

The Lions will play three Friday night games before finishing with a Thursday night game. Unfortunately, fans in the local area wanting to see that preseason opener will need to stay up late to see it live. Being a weekday night in the Bay Area, kickoff against the Oakland Raiders is set for 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday, August 17.

Games two through four will have a much more familiar feel as they will kick off 7 p.m. ET, except for the third preseason game at Tampa Bay which will be at 8:00 p.m. for national television.

The full preseason schedule with dates and times was released by the Lions via press release earlier today.

"Friday, August 10 at Oakland Raiders (10:30 p.m. ET; WJBK-TV FOX 2)Friday, August 17 vs. New York Giants (7 p.m. ET; WJBK-TV FOX 2)Friday, August 24 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8 p.m.; CBS#)Thursday, August 30 vs. Cleveland Browns (7 p.m.; WJBK-TV FOX 2)# Nationally Televised"
