NFL Draft 2018: Detroit Lions seven-round mock draft 4.0

Continuing a 2018 seven-round mock draft series for the Detroit Lions, this time starting with a surprising pick on defense to set the scenario.
Those of you who have followed my Detroit Lions seven-round mock draft series know the deal by now but it’s worth explaining again. What you will find here is not necessarily what I think the Lions will do in the 2018 NFL Draft, nor is it exactly what I think the Lions should do. The point of this series is simply to play out a variety of scenarios as we await the actual draft.
To aid in the scenario generating and to keep it as honest of a process as I possible (no cherry picking picks!) I use the Fanspeak mock draft simulator set to one of the recent draft boards that have been submitted to the site. I make all the picks for the Lions while the rest of the picks are simulated based on the draft board and team needs.
As a way of making sure each seven-round mock in this series is fresh and unique I change up the first round pick with a different position each time. By setting a new scenario at the top means different choices later in the draft.
After beginning this series with a pair of defensive players to start, the third mock switched to offense. Vita Vea was the first Lions pick in mock 1.0, Harold Landry was the top pick in mock 2.0 and Derrius Guice was the pick in mock 3.0.
