Detroit Lions: Bold predictions for the 2018 NFL Draft

The first day of the 2018 NFL Draft has finally arrived. While we wait the final hours before it starts, here are some predictions for the Detroit Lions.

What will the Detroit Lions do in the 2018 NFL Draft? I have no idea, and neither does anyone else. Well, Bob Quinn probably has a pretty good idea of what he’ll do, or at least what he would like to do, and we’ll know soon enough as we watch it play out.

In the meantime, we can keep guessing. With day one of the 2018 NFL Draft finally here, it’s time to throw down some bold predictions.

Day two will be heavy on offense

It would be easy to argue that the Lions’ biggest needs are on defense but some fans will be left wondering if Bob Quinn knows that when day two of the 2018 NFL Draft ends. The Lions may have their sights set on a defensive player in round one but that doesn’t mean the top half of the draft will be so focused on that side of the ball.

With day two looking like the sweet spot to add a running back and a potentially similar opportunity to grab an interior offensive lineman, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Lions’ finish the first half of the draft with more offensive players than defensive.
