Detroit Lions football for 2018 is still a ways away but the team has made preseason tickets available for sale starting today.

The Detroit Lions have announced today that single-game tickets to the team’s two preseason games are now sale. Prior to today, the only way to get any tickets to a 2018 game was to become a season member.

The Lions will host the New York Giants on August 17 and the Cleveland Browns on August 30.

Aside from the secondary market, there are three ways Lions fans can get tickets: Online through the team website, by phone or in person at 800-745-3000 or in person at the Ford Field ticket office, which is open weekdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

One additional way to score tickets to the preseason opener was also revealed (with further details coming in the future) in the team’s press release:

"The team’s preseason home opener against the New York Giants will be presented by the Southeast Michigan Ford Dealers. A promotion will be announced later this summer that will give fans the opportunity to claim tickets to the game against the Giants by visiting a Southeast Michigan Ford Dealer. The first 20,000 fans to arrive at Ford Field for the Lions’ home preseason game against the Giants will receive a 2018 canvas player photo."

The preseason game against the Giants will be the preseason home opener for the Lions but it will be their second preseason game overall. They will play at the Oakland Raiders the week before, then play on the road at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before closing preseason play at home against the Browns.
