The Detroit Pistons were founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana but have forged their identity in Detroit. It has been in Detroit that the franchise has seen most of its iconic players wear the team’s red, white and blue (let’s not talk about the teal) and where the franchise won all three of its NBA Championships. The franchise has certainly had its ups and downs. The downs have been low but the highs have resulted in deep playoff runs and NBA Titles.

Woven throughout that history has been a stream of players who have been at the very top of the game. Ever era of Pistons basketball has some all-time greats associated with it, but what if we made a single Pistons team made up of the very best across eras? That’s what we will do here (with some input from former Detroit Jock City writer Matt Snyder), to create a Pistons all-time team.

This team will mimic an actual squad that could play a game. In that spirit, presented here is a starting five with bench players made of a mix of guards and bigs to round out a 12-man team.

The team named here is meant for fun and to rile up some memories but this is the internet so someone is sure to take it way too seriously. That being said, hit us up if you have some constructive thoughts on the team or changes you would have made. You can leave a comment below the post or send a tweet to the Detroit Jock City Twitter account.

Now let’s get on with the Detroit Pistons all-time squad, beginning with the starting point guard.
