3 Detroit Lions who could make their first Pro Bowl

Agnew has one of the better chances of making the Pro Bowl this year. He led the league in return yards (447), punt return average (15.4), and he was the only returner to have two touchdowns last year. He quietly became one of the best returners in the league. In fact, he earned All-Pro honors his first year and was the first alternate in the Pro Bowl last year behind Los Angles Rams Pharoh Cooper. The reason why Cooper made it over Agnew was because Cooper also returned kickoffs whereas Agnew was hardly used in that aspect.

If the Lions decide to throw him in kickoff returns along with his usual punt returns, he would add to his repertoire as one of the best returners in the NFL. The new kickoff rules cater to someone like Agnew with his athleticism to breakout for long returns. This is one the camp battles I am keeping my eye on. There are talks Ameer Abdullah is taking majority reps at kick returner, but the Lions would be smart to see what Agnew can do on kickoffs.

The expectation is Agnew will have an increased role on defense this year as a nickel corner. Where Agnew is going to make his money though is his elite return ability. With how close Agnew was making the Pro Bowl last year and as long as he continues his dominance as a returner he could make his first of many Pro Bowls this year.
