The Detroit Lions are going to take the field for the first time under head coach Matt Patricia Friday. Here are some questions that will be answered.

So far the Detroit Lions have been about as forthcoming as they are mandated to be by the league about pretty much everything. Both Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia come from the New England Patriots organization. The Bill Belichick led Patriots are notoriously tight-lipped at all times from top to the janitorial staff of the stadium. Lions fans have been left wondering about a few things.

The team has released a depth chart, but even a first look at it led to more questions than answers. It is a confusing sight to behold. That could very well be intentional on the team’s part.

The first preseason game is not going to answer all of the burning questions we have. The team is not going to show their cards this week. At least they should not be revealing everything they have in store this early. One of their greatest advantages early in the season is that teams will be unable to prepare for them.

There is still a lot to glean from watching the game for those with a need to know. The full picture won’t be revealed, but a larger percentage will. For Lions fans, that will to have to suffice Friday night in Oakland.

There are bigger changes than the Lions have ever seen on the defensive side of the ball. There is also a significant overhaul of the offensive side. here are the three biggest questions that will be answered in the first preseason game.
