Graham Glasgow

Glasgow was the Lions’ ironman last year. The former third-round pick was the only player on the offensive line to play all 16 games while playing both center and guard. Because Glasgow is still under his rookie contract, he is practically a steal for Detroit. Glasgow has only allowed 6.5 sacks in two years. Any team would love to have him because of his durability and versatility along the offensive line.

Glasgow’s cap hit for this year is only $809,855 per Spotrac.com. Then, next year its $896,855. He is the Lions’ 31st highest cap hit, the lowest among the offensive line. He was also the third most valuable Lion last year according to Pro Football Reference (PFR). To have someone on the offensive line like him costing the team less than a million in cap space is a luxury. Because of the low cap, Bob Quinn was able to spend extra money to beef up the line when he went out and signed Rick Wagner and T.J Lang in free agency.

Glasgow is going to start at his natural position center this year. With two years still left on Glasgow’s contract, the Lions have a bargain. Right now he is the 39th highest paid center in the league. To put it in perspective, new Detroit Lion Wesley Johnson is the 40th highest paid center in the league. For the price the Lions are paying, Glasgow offers continuity, durability, and versatility; traits you want for an offensive lineman.
