Oh my god, they killed Kenny

For the offensive line as a whole, it was a forgetful performance. They provided almost nothing in pass protection and did not do the running backs any favors. There are plenty of players on the offensive line I could’ve gone with, but I decided to go with Kenny Wiggins.

We all remember how bad the offensive line was last year when the injury bug hit. Bob Quinn decided to bring in Wiggins to help solve some of the depth issues. He started two years with the Los Angles Chargers before the Lions signed him this past offseason. Wiggins has had a good camp so far leading to his uptick in the depth chart.

Wiggins has been working with the first team with T.J Lang still sidelined. With that, he earned the start for the Giants game. Right off the bat, it showed just how bad the Lions need Lang back. On the first series, Wiggins got beat bad that led to a sack. On another play, he whiffed on a block on a fourth and short situation that led to Blount getting stuffed.

The expectations for Wiggins isn’t that high considering this won’t be the first team line heading into the start of the regular season. The concerning part is once again the depth behind the starting five on the offensive line. Between Joe Dahl, Corey Robinson, and Wiggins, who all had rough moments did help put Lions fan’s minds at ease. The questionable depth is leading to a lot of bad memories from last season.

If Lang is unable to go in Week 3 of the preseason expect Wiggins to get the start again. Hopefully, he cleans up the issues that plagued him in the last game.
