1. Patrik Rybár – GP:4 | GAA:3.72 | SV%:869

Playing on a sub-par Slovakia team, Rybár hasn’t had the easiest time in net thus far. I don’t expect that to change either. As the only goalie with a win for Slovakia, Rybár has had plenty of rubber to look at. While I don’t expect Rybár to compete for a spot with the Red Wings, it’s good to see him get a chance to be a starting goalie for his country.

Despite his statistics, Rybár outplayed Grand Rapids Griffins teammate, Harri Säteri at times throughout the AHL season. Unfortunately, for Rybár, it was Säteri who was the starter in the Calder Cup Playoffs. This tournament will give him a chance to try to improve his game against world-class players while playing as Slovakia’s starting goalie, for now.

Regardless of his performances, Rybár will look to improve this off-season and compete for Grand Rapids starting job come training camp.
