It seems Aaron Rodgers can’t seem to get Mike McCarthy out of his mind.

Bob: After the most recent impressive Packers win on the road in Dallas, Rodgers appeared to once again send a subtle message towards his former head coach.  Rodgers exclaimed the team, unlike in years past, is having fun, the leadership is excellent, the locker room is fun.  Will the superstar ever be able to get over the past? If the Packers happened to sputter, will Rodgers’ tune change?

Paul: I think that this is just another one of those media driven narratives that takes something small and turns it into a big thing. Yes, Rodgers talked about how the team is having more fun, how players can be themselves, and a follow-up question to that – which I’m guessing most haven’t heard – asked if that was due to coaching.

At that moment, Rodgers could have taken a shot at Mike McCarthy but instead focused on the players and the new additions as the biggest contributors to the culture change within the locker room. He answered the first question honestly, which isn’t that what we want? And from there praised the players rather than the coaching staff.

Bob’s Response: At times, the media will continually try and throw fuel onto the fire. Rodgers expressed the team is having fun, whether it’s at a Monday film session or a Friday walkthrough.  But Paul has touched on something here–winning.  Winning cures all aliments when it comes to sports.  Winning can stabilize a rocky relationship.

Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers didn’t have a great relationship at the end, but if the Packers were having success, he’d still be around.  I get tired of Aaron and all athletes for that matter, continuing to take these subtle shots towards the former coach.  Leave that to the Baker Mayfield‘s of the world, Aaron.
